These Terms and Conditions govern your use of lakshadweep-hotels.com and any booking you make through us. Please read them before booking. By making a booking you confirm that you accept these terms on behalf of everyone travelling in your party.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Lakshadweep Tourism Holidays Pvt. Ltd. “You” means the person making the booking and, where relevant, everyone travelling with them.
2. What we do
We arrange accommodation, transfers, activities and entry permits for travel to the Lakshadweep islands. We work with independently owned hotels, resorts, homestays and guesthouses across Agatti, Kavaratti, Bangaram and other islands.
Where we book accommodation or services provided by a third party, we act as an agent for that supplier. The stay itself is provided by the property, and the property’s own house rules apply alongside these terms. Where we supply a package directly, we are responsible for the elements we have agreed to provide.
3. Bookings and confirmation
A booking is only confirmed once we have issued a written confirmation to you by email. A quotation, an enquiry, a held reservation or a verbal indication of availability does not constitute a confirmed booking.
You are responsible for checking that the details on your confirmation – names, dates, island, property and number of guests – are correct, and for telling us promptly if anything is wrong. Names must match the identity documents you will travel on.
We may decline a booking, or cancel a confirmed booking and refund what you have paid, if the accommodation becomes unavailable, if the details supplied are inaccurate, or if we reasonably believe the booking has been made fraudulently.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) and are confirmed at the time of booking. Prices shown on listing pages are indicative and may vary with season, occupancy and availability until a booking is confirmed in writing.
Unless your confirmation states otherwise:
- Rates for island accommodation generally include meals, as there are very few independent restaurants on the islands.
- Rates do not include flights or ship tickets to and from the islands, travel insurance, personal expenses, or activities not listed on your confirmation.
- Any government fees, taxes or levies applicable at the time of travel are payable by you unless we have stated that they are included.
The deposit and balance due dates for your booking are set out on your confirmation. If a balance is not paid by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled and cancellation charges may apply.
5. Entry permits
Lakshadweep is a restricted area. Every visitor who is not a resident of the islands requires an entry permit issued by the Lakshadweep Administration, including children and infants. There is no minimum age exemption and permits cannot be obtained on arrival.
Where your booking includes permit assistance, we will prepare and submit the application on your behalf using the identity documents and photographs you provide. In doing so:
- You must supply accurate identity documents and photographs for every traveller, and the names must match those documents exactly.
- Permits are granted at the sole discretion of the Lakshadweep Administration. We cannot guarantee that a permit will be issued.
- Your permit names specific islands. You may not visit an island that is not listed on it, including on a day trip. Tell us every island you intend to visit before we apply.
- You must carry a printed copy of your approved permit. It is checked before boarding and again on arrival.
If a permit application is refused for reasons outside our control, we will tell you promptly and refund amounts we are able to recover from suppliers. Amounts already committed on your behalf, and any non-refundable transport you have booked yourself, may not be recoverable.
6. Foreign nationals
Travellers holding foreign passports require a special permit and are permitted to stay only on Bangaram and Thinnakara. The inhabited islands are not open to foreign nationals for overnight stays. Special permits require additional clearance and take considerably longer to process.
If you are travelling on a foreign passport, tell us at the time of enquiry. It is your responsibility to hold a valid passport, visa and any other documentation required for entry into India.
7. Transport, transfers and weather
Access to Lakshadweep is by a limited number of flights to Agatti and by passenger ship from Kochi. Onward travel between islands is by boat, in daylight only, and depends on sea conditions.
You accept that:
- Flight and ship schedules are set by the operators and the Lakshadweep Administration, not by us, and are subject to change, delay and cancellation.
- Boat transfers may be delayed or cancelled where sea conditions make them unsafe. This decision rests with the operator and is made in the interests of safety.
- Where a delay or cancellation causes an unplanned overnight stay or a missed connection, any additional cost is your responsibility unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
We strongly recommend allowing a buffer day at each end of your trip and holding travel insurance that covers delay, cancellation and medical evacuation.
8. Your responsibilities on the islands
Lakshadweep is an ecologically fragile group of coral atolls with a small resident population. By booking with us you agree that you and your party will:
- Observe the prohibition on alcohol, which applies across the inhabited islands.
- Dress modestly away from the beach. These are conservative island communities and you will be moving through places where people live.
- Not touch, stand on, break or remove coral, shells or marine life, whether living or dead.
- Use reef-safe sunscreen and avoid single-use plastics where possible.
- Follow the house rules of the property you are staying at, and any instructions given by boat crews and dive operators on safety grounds.
- Carry your permit and identification for the duration of your stay.
We or the property may decline to continue providing services, without refund, where a guest’s behaviour is unlawful, endangers others, or causes serious nuisance or damage.
9. Listings and accuracy
We take care to describe properties accurately and to use current photographs. Facilities, room configurations and inclusions are those advised to us by the property and can change. Where we become aware of a significant change before your arrival, we will tell you as soon as we reasonably can and offer an alternative or a refund of amounts we can recover.
Photographs of a property are representative. Individual rooms and cottages may differ in layout, outlook and furnishing.
10. Cancellations, changes and refunds
Cancellation terms depend on the property or supplier and are confirmed in writing at the time of booking. Please see our Cancellation Policy and your booking confirmation for the terms that apply to your reservation.
Requests to change dates, islands or party size are subject to availability and to the supplier’s terms, and may attract a difference in price.
11. Liability
We accept responsibility for arranging your booking with reasonable skill and care.
We are not liable for loss, damage, injury, delay or additional expense arising from:
- acts or omissions of independent suppliers, including properties, airlines, shipping services, boat operators and activity providers;
- refusal or withdrawal of an entry permit by the Lakshadweep Administration;
- weather, sea conditions, or any event described in clause 12;
- your own acts or omissions, including failure to carry valid documentation or to arrive in time for a departure;
- activities you arrange independently on the islands.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Water activities including swimming, snorkelling and diving carry inherent risk. You participate at your own risk and must declare any relevant medical condition to the operator.
12. Events beyond our control
We are not liable for failure to perform where that failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes the southwest monsoon and other severe weather, rough seas, suspension of shipping, closure of the airstrip, natural disaster, epidemic, civil unrest, industrial action, and changes to government restrictions or permit rules.
Where such an event prevents your trip, we will refund amounts we are able to recover from suppliers on your behalf.
13. Insurance
Travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended. Given the remoteness of the islands, cover should include trip cancellation and curtailment, travel delay, medical treatment and medical evacuation to the mainland, and any water sports you intend to take part in.
14. Complaints
If something is wrong during your stay, please raise it immediately with the property and contact us at [email protected] or +91 81 29 19 55 11. Most problems can be resolved on the spot, and we may be unable to assist meaningfully with a complaint first raised after you have returned home.
15. Privacy
Our handling of your personal data, including the identity documents required for permit applications, is described in our Privacy Policy.
16. Intellectual property
The content of this website, including text, photographs and design, is owned by or licensed to Lakshadweep Tourism Holidays Pvt. Ltd. and may not be reproduced or republished without our written permission.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts having jurisdiction over the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the date of your booking confirmation is the version that applies to your booking.
