What data we collect
When you enquire or book
- Name, email address and phone number
- Travel dates, island preferences, number and ages of travellers
- Any dietary requirements, accessibility needs or other requests you tell us about
- Payment details, where applicable
Identity documents for entry permits
This is the most sensitive data we handle, so we want to be explicit about it.
Lakshadweep is a restricted area and every visitor requires an entry permit issued by the Lakshadweep Administration. Where your booking includes permit assistance, we collect, for each traveller including children:
- A copy of a government identity document – Aadhaar, passport or voter ID
- A passport-size photograph
- Date of birth and the details required by the permit application form
We collect these documents for the sole purpose of applying for your entry permit. We do not use them for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not share them with anyone other than the Lakshadweep Administration and, where necessary, the transport operator or property that is required to verify your permit.

Reviews and comments
If you submit a review, we collect the content of the review, the name you supply, and your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.

Who we share your data with
We share only what is necessary, and only with:
- The Lakshadweep Administration – identity documents and traveller details, for the purpose of your entry permit application.
- The property you are staying at – guest names, dates, party size and any requirements you have told us about, so they can prepare for your arrival. Properties are also required to record guest details for the authorities.
- Transport and activity operators – the details needed to arrange your transfers, boat trips or dives.
- Service providers who host our website, process payments or send our email, acting on our instructions.
- Authorities, where we are required to disclose information by law.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months.
- Booking records: for as long as required for accounting and tax purposes under Indian law, normally eight years.
- Identity documents submitted for permits: retained only for as long as needed to obtain and support your permit, and deleted once that purpose has passed, unless we are required to retain them.
- Marketing contacts: until you withdraw consent.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Essential cookies are needed for functions such as booking forms and logging in. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.

Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including restricting access to identity documents to the staff who handle permit applications. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and provide a copy;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep;
- restrict or object to how we use your data;
- provide your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Note that we may be unable to delete data we are required to keep for tax purposes, or that is needed to support a permit already issued.
Children
We do not knowingly collect data from children directly. Where a booking includes children, their details and identity documents are supplied by the adult making the booking, who confirms they are entitled to provide them.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
