Where it is

Lagoon Atoll’s Beach Resort Agatti is at Agatti Island. Agatti is the gateway to Lakshadweep and the only island in the archipelago with an airstrip, which makes it the simplest island to reach and the easiest base for a first visit. The property is beachfront, so the water is directly in front of you rather than a walk away — on islands this small that is less about convenience than about how the days actually feel.

The lagoon runs along the western side of the island and is shallow enough to wade far out in calm weather. Snorkelling straight from the beach is possible in several places, and boat trips to Bangaram and Thinnakara are arranged locally — though every island you visit must be named on your entry permit.

Getting to Lagoon Atoll’s Beach Resort Agatti

Reaching Agatti means a direct flight from Kochi, Goa or Bangalore, or a passenger ship from Kochi. Road transfers on the island are short, since Agatti is barely six kilometres end to end.

Every visitor to Lakshadweep needs an entry permit, children included — there is no minimum age exemption. The process is much lighter than it once was: no police clearance certificate, no sponsor, and no tickets required when you apply. An ID card and a photograph for each passenger is the whole document list. Guests booking a package with us have the permit handled as part of the booking.
